Types Of Bike Insurance You Need
If you are a street racer, an adrenaline seeker, a speed addict or someone who is ready to feel the freshness of air, then motorcycles are just for you.
So, you start saving every cent to acquire the bike of your dreams. And now that you have finally collected the needed sum you are desperate to buy the desired companion for your ride on the road. But wait, haven’t you forgotten anything? Like insurance, for example?
But what if you cannot afford that expensive insurance for that sparkly bike?
Do research to find online insurance quotes and consult with the insurance company or its agent.
There are many types of bike insurance. And it will be much easier for you to compare the insurance quotes if you know at least the standard types of bike coverage:
- Third-Party Liability covers damages caused to other parties and their properties only in situations where the crash is your fault. It can be of two types:
- Bodily injury liability: This type covers other party’s hospital and nursing care, including psychoanalysis.
- Property damage liability: This type covers the charge of somebody else’s property, such as a bike, a car, or a van. If the crash is your fault, then the liability insurance will cover the claims sued against you by the other parties.
Remember that Third Party Liability does not cover your personal injuries and damages of your own bike. It is obligatory to have at least this type of bike insurance in all the states of the US, except New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
- Uninsured Automobile Coverage offers its services in cases when you are hit by a rider who has no insurance or who has skipped away after the crash.
- Full Coverage Insurance covers the damages of the accident, no matter if the crash was your fault or not. This insurance also covers the injuries caused to all the passengers on your bike.
Thus, be very attentive and consider all the services of any motorcycle insurance you apply for, and, of course, be extremely careful while riding your favorite bike.
