Never Let Truck Fatigue Stand In Your Way

Truck driving jobs are one of the ten most dangerous jobs in the United States, and 20% of trucking accidents are caused by driver fatigue. Though the United States Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has specific regulations concerning truck drivers’ working hours, very few companies take them into consideration, which causes so much damage to the truck driver’s health and to traffic, because of so many accidents.
Irregular and very tiring work schedules, long periods of sitting, sleepless days and nights, lifting and ordering heavy objects and eating only fast-food will surely lead you to serious health problems. Due to driving for several hours without having a short break, many drivers start to smoke, which leads to other health problems such as breathing difficulties, sleep apnea and others.
Women truck drivers do not escape health injuries either and acquire such health problems as backache, hypertension, migraine, sinus problems and difficulties with their vision. Certainly the above-mentioned problems also threaten male drivers, but the fact is that women drivers get hurt more easily and quickly than male ones.
Several tips concerning trucking jobs will lead truckers along the path of better health:
1. Know the signs for a stroke
2. Quit smoking
3. Know the signs for a heart attack
4. Make healthy fast food choices
5. Exercise while out on the road
6. Control your blood pressure
Life on the road is very difficult to which much attention should be paid. Your health is always in your hands, and if from time to time it tries to escape, always clutch it, making an obstacle for driver fatigue.
