A week before the Geneva Auto Show, Porsche has officially revealed some photos and some information about the new luxury suv Porsche Cayenne 2011-2012 model years.
The new is made more elegant and stylish than its predecessor. And all thanks to a reduced level of the roof, more severe and stylized front end, and changes in the rear. The car interior of this luxury suv has been completely redesigned. The new car interior reminds of a Porsche Panamera.
The new Porsche Cayenne has almost the same platform as the new Volkswagen Touareg with the addition of various mechanical elements of the Porsche Panamera.
Despite the fact that the new luxury suv grew in length by 40 mm, the fuel consumption was reduced by an average of 23 percent, due to the fact that it has become lighter by about 200 kg. The fuel consumption and CO2 emission were also reduced thanks to the new eight-speed automatic Tiptronic S.
The new Porsche Cayenne will be produced with the following types of engines: petrol 3.6 liters V6 with 300 hp, the same as on the Porsche Panamera; turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 240 horsepower, as well as the naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 with a capacity of 400 HP, which will be installed on the Porsche Cayenne S and the same 4.8 V8 turbocharged capacity of 500 hp version for Cayenne Turbo.
The big news for fans of Porsche Cayenne is that the hybrid version of this luxury suv will be available with 3.3-liter engine V6 TSI with 333 horsepower, plus the electric motor 47 hp for a total of 380 hp and 580 Nm of torque.
Hybrid Porsche Cayenne will be able to overcome the short distances at speeds up to 37 mph, using the capacity of the electric motor only. In addition to fuel economy, the new Porsche Cayenne Hybrid is the cleanest of Porsche’s current lineup of cars, as its CO2 emissions are very low.
Geneva Motor Show is the place of the official presentation of the new Porsche Cayenne 2011.
