Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X From $34,000
If you’re a Mitsubishi lover be ready to empty out your pockets for the launch of the new Lancer Evo X. For the base GSR model with a five-speed manual transmission, pricing should be around $34,000. The top of the range MR model with the new Twin Clutch-Sequential Sportshift Transmission begins at $39,000.
The prices are a little bit bit higher compared to the current generation Mitsubishi Lancer with the Lancer Evo IX sedan starting at $28,679 or $35,189 for the MR trim. The good news is that the extra cost for the Evo X is made up for by a better interior. Mitsubishi also hopes that prices will drop by around $1,000 before they go on sale.
The new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR and MR are both powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC MIVEC engine that produces 295 horsepower and 300 ft-lbs. of torque. Mitsubishi also announced that the GSR model will be available to purchase next February, while the MR should arrive before the summer reports Autoblog.
Previous generation of Evo’s found huge success, and the new models look likely to continue along the same path.
