Mazda2: 100,000 Sold Just In 8 Months
Recently we’ve been hearing about one recall after another, but there is some positive news as well. In the case of Mazda, the company has sold 100,000 Mazda2′s in only 8 months which probably isn’t surprising given that its won 31 international awards.
According to Auto Unleashed last year was a success for Mazda as well.
Mazda in Europe, the Japanese producer managing to sell 311,247 units here, its highest volume since 1991. This is also due to Mazda2′s success, 12,591 units being sold in just four months.
The all-new Demio is around 100 kilograms lighter than the previous model and boasts superb body rigidity through the use of ultra-high tensile steel. These advances help it to achieve top class fuel economy, dynamic driving performance and superior safety protection all at the same time. In December 2007, the all-new Mazda2 was awarded five stars for adult occupant protection in the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP)* crash testing; validation that its collision safety performance is world class.
I don’t remember Mazda doing so well in the past, but in recent years the Mazda RX series has increased the Mazda Motor Corporation’s share of the market.
