BMW X6: First Impressions
Ever since BMW presented its new Sports Activity Drive vehicle, the X6, we’ve been waiting for the first test drive to find out more about it in action.
It’s been known that the German automaker is proud of its combination of an SUV and Coupe, as well as its creating a completely new category in the auto world, but what else?
To start with, the interior meets high quality standards although compared with the X5 it has less space, especially for those sitting in the back. It seems that BMW decided to sacrifice space for aesthetic reasons. Otherwise, According to Edmunds, there is not much difference between the two models.
The new torque distribution system known as Dynamic Performance Control (DPC). In simplest terms, DPC is able to redirect power to each of the four wheels in varying degrees. And it’s not just for traction control either, as DPC actively intervenes to help control the directional stability of the X6 as well.
The top model sports an all new 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 407 horsepower which is enough to reach 100km/h in 5.4 seconds. There will also be a new 3 liter diesel powered version as well as hybrid next year as well.
Basically, BMW has not only created a new category for cars, but is also pushing it towards greener and cleaner considerations. Price will start from $53,275.
