2008 Chevy Malibu – A Worthy Player
If you are looking for a midsize sedan and especially want it to be American, then pay close attention to the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. It’s possibly the best midsize American sedan that is affordable, is good-looking and offers great features.
What is interesting about the Malibu is that it manages to attract European drivers while being American by nature. Another important factor is that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded the 2008 Chevy Malibu five-star safety ratings, which is just perfect. Edmunds.com reports that “The Chevy Malibu, winner of the North American Car of 2008, was also named a J.D. Power midsize car segment winner.”
It seems that this car doesn’t need additional advertisement, but let’s examine what’s under the hood. Malibu offers 2.4 liter four-cylinder, 3.6 liter V6 cylinder or hybrid-electric engines, and it’s the only vehicle in the midsize segment to offer a four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission.
AskPatty.com reports how Malibu achieved such success.
According to Chevrolet Malibu marketing manager Mike Weidman, this was the most researched vehicle (from a consumer level) of any vehicle launch, ever made by General Motors. The advertising campaign was highlighted by enormous media pushes that saturated television and internet outlets on three dates, virtually ensuring that the Malibu was truly a car that nobody could miss.
