Shaquille O’Neal, the famous basketball player from Miami Heat is busy getting divorced from his wife Shaunie. Don’t worry, we’re not going to change our coverage now to sports because we instead thought you might all be interested to discover that the big guy is spending $23,000 on gas — per month!

Now, just take your calculator and start to work out how many gallons of gas Shaquille must be using each day to achieve that. No, you aren’t mistaken, it’s at least 200 gallons per-day, and while no one doubts that he has enough money to have a car collection (about 15 cars), it’s a little difficult imaging him driving 1,300 miles every day.

Of course, it’s worth pointing out that these figures are of course connected with his divorce and the likelihood that Shaquille O’Neal is trying to limit how much alimony he will have to pay to his wife. Is saying that he spends $23,000 on gas trying to limit how much she will get?

Or perhaps, as some other bloggers remark, it’s time O’Neal realized that gas can be expensive as well as environmentally unfriendly. Intentional Foul jokes that perhaps Shaquille needs a hybrid.

Even with some cost-cutting there, however, looks like some savings need to be made in other areas. This is what Shaquille also says he spends part of his money on.

$22,000 for maid services

$17,000 on clothes

$1,500 on cable TV

And yes, all of these figures are per-month!
