Toyota Named Top US Auto-Seller In November
The Toyota Motor Corporation has been named the best-selling automobile manufacturer in the United States this year, topping the sales charts for the first time ever. According to U.S. research firm AUTODATA CORP., Toyota was the sales leader through November, with its market share rising 0.8 percentage point from the first 11 months of 2006 to 14.2 per cent.
Toyota managed to take the lead over General Motors Chevrolet, which dropped 0.6 point to 14 percent, while Ford came in third with 13 percent. Perhaps this wasn’t a surprise because Toyota is a real threat to American giants like GM and Ford so this was only just a matter of time.
