Ford Focus: Best Choice For Women
Each day the number of woman divers who prefer cars that are comfortable, safe and have good visibility is increasing. It’s already not surprising to discover lists such as the “Top 10 Cars For Women,” but as the auto industry is moving forwards, so too are such breakdowns.
About.com Cars made an effort and produced its own top 10 cars for women. Top of the list is the Ford Focus which has been in production since 1998.
Although the previous generation was accepted more than warmly, it couldn’t score higher in some safety tests. However, the new Focus managed to score well in all tests and has gained the best ever ratings for its class (5 stars for adult protection, 4 of 5 for child protection and 2 of 5 for pedestrian protection).
So, for safety, women shouldn’t worry, but another important issue is handling. The Focus does well there as well, as About.com reports.
Part of the Focus’ secret is that it was designed in conjunction with Ford’s European division, which means it’s well suited to twisty roads. The steering feel is fantastic on both curves and straights. The ride is bouncy but the handling is well controlled. Even if you’re not the type who grins whenever you see a squiggly-road-ahead sign, you’ll appreciate the Focus’ responsiveness if you ever have to swerve to avoid an accident.
If we combine this with an exterior appealing to the eyes and and a resonable price of $14,000, then it’s hard not to agree that the Ford Focus is the best car for women.
