Renault Laguna Coupe: Officially Unveiled In Cannes
When it comes to French car manufacturers, one of the first that springs to mind is Peugeot. In France, the top models from this manufacturer are considered the first choice for government officials, but another popular French car manufacturer is obviously Renault which also has its own place in the market place.
Accepted in Europe, Renault also makes a profit from developing countries key to this is above average quality at an affordable price for those on a limited budget. In particular, the Renault Laguna, a large family car with an aesthetic exterior and reasonable price, has its fans and Renault recently unveiled its new Laguna Coupe at Cannes. The vehicle was presented in concept form last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
It’s the third generation and looks pretty stylish and attractive. However, compared with the concept, the production model lost some of the more cool touches although the main lines are kept intact. The Laguna Coupe look charming while Autocar reports on its engine.
The car comes with existing engines from the Laguna range plus a new diesel and petrol V6. The 3.0-litre oil-burner packs 235hp and 332b ft of torque, while the 3.5-litre petrol unit offers 240bhp and 244lb ft; both come with an automatic transmission. The petrol V6 will be the range-topping model and should hit 60mph in under seven seconds.
According to NetCarShow, the 2009 Laguna Coupe will come with more and probably final details at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show.
Renault Laguna Coupe will be shown in greater detail at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show and will be available for international media road tests immediately after that. As the spearhead of the Laguna range, it has been designed to offer sheer driving pleasure and plays a key role in the Renault’s brand’s expansion in the upper-range market.
