Lexus LF-A Roadster
Lexus is now the luxury vehicle division of Toyota and initially was sold only in United States, but now you can see them almost everywhere. For a while there was a lot of talk that Lexus was not innovative enough, but now they can compete with BMW, Audi and Mercedes.
Anyway, the Lexus LF-A roadster that was shown at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show is another step into the world of fast roadsters. In this segment, competition is not too strong and considering that the LF-A roadster hides a 5.0 liter V10 engine under the hood which produces more than 500h/p, then LF-A might even leader the pack.
The LF-A is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, and designers obviously paid a close attention to aerodynamics. They even stick a “speed adaptive” spoiler behind, which is hidden in the back and rises only at high speeds when more control over the vehicle is necessary.
According to Edmunds, a LF-A concept vhicle was shown at previous auto shows as well, but the one on display at Detroit possibly is the production model.
Now here we are at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show and Lexus shows up with yet another version of the LF-A. This time it’s the LF-A Roadster, and although it’s still technically a concept, all the details say it’s pretty close to the production car that’s expected to show up in the next 12 months.
