2009 Honda Pilot Officially Announced

2009 Honda Pilot Officially AnnouncedJapaneses car manufacturers have proved that their vehicles are not only able to compete with competition from the U.S. and Europe, but can actually surpass them. Toyota is particularly a case in point, but Honda has also been doing quite well in recent years. Yesterday, it officially announced the 2009 Honda Pilot SUV which is the second in the series.

Presented at the 2008 North American International Auto Show as a concept model, the production model is the same. Indeed, why change it if people liked it? Anyway, judging from the exterior, the Pilot is a large and heavy car and best suited for the U.S. market. With six comfortable seats, it is ideal for families. According to Mother Proof, the interior is satisfying.

The 2009 Pilot is comfortable for a family; a very accessible and comfortable third row still exists, and there are a total of four sets of Latch connectors. It also has tether anchors in all six rear passenger seats. It’s about time, Automotive World! And to Honda in particular, thank you!

The abundance of interior storage is brilliant, with padded, grippy cubbies everywhere, and cupholders galore.

Under the hood lies a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 250hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. It has some useful features such as the latest generation fuel-saving VCM Technology which allows the engine to operate on only three or four cylinders when extra horse power is not needed. AutoUnleashed reports that the Pilot also has some new features as well.

Besides the enhanced powertrain the new Pilot also has a new list of available features which include Bluetooth, Hill Start Assist, Power Tailgate, and a Tailgate with a lift-up glass hatch and will be available in four versions, LX, EX, EX-L and a new Touring model.
