Maserati To Recall 56 Gran Turismo

Maserati To Recall 56 Gran TurismoWhen manufacturers recall cars which are not expensive, it’s kind of understandable. But when we heard a few days ago that three Mercedes McLarren’s were to be recalled, it sounded weird. Now we learn that the Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati has decided not to be left behind its German rival.

According to Auto Unleashed the recall will begin this month.

What’s happening with all these luxury cars recalls? I mean, first it was Mercedes which recalled 3 McLaren SLRs and now Maserati announced it will recall 56 GranTurismo coupes due to a faulty in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electronic control unit (ECU) software when the battery is not fully charged. In the event of a crash, this might cause the passenger seat-belt and airbag to malfunction. The recall will begin this month and dealers will replace the SRS ECU units.

I’m starting to think that those times when people paid more than $150,000 for a luxury car and satisfaction was guaranteed are now well and truly gone. Maserati Gran Turisom owners are not going to be happy when they hear this, for sure.
