Feel Safe, Secure In 2009 Acura TL
When it comes to the variety of the safest cars on the market, you shouldn’t be surprised that many of them are offered by Japanese manufacturers like Honda, Subaru and Acura. They all have excellent reputations when it comes to keeping motorists safe.
People have been shouting out loudly in their vehicle ratings for the fabulous 2009 Acura TL. There’s much lauded praise not only for the TL’s safety record but also for its gorgeous, streamlined appearance as well. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rated the Acura TL with five out of five stars in driver, passenger, front and rear crash tests. And it also received a “Top Safety Pick” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The Acura TL is a mid-sized offering by the luxury car company. It comes in two flavors: the standard front-wheel drive model with 3.5-liter V6 engine and an all-wheel drive version, the TL SH-AWD, is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 motor. The base model yields 280 horsepower while the SH-AWD cranks out 306 horsepower.
Besides the power increase, with the Acura TL SH-AWD you also have a significant boost in performance handling, which goes without saying. The all-wheel drive system provides a more accurate, secure grip to the road which is especially noticeable on sharp turns. To help that grip on the road’s surface you can opt for 19-inch tires. With those things to keep you rolling smoothly along you should have nothing to worry about when driving in a rainstorm for instance.
Regarding safety features, Edmonds.com reveals that “All 2009 Acura TL models come with antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front restraints.”
And leave it to Acura to offer more goodies than you could ever possibly need to keep you and anyone else cruising along with you entertained. For instance, you can opt for a 10-speaker audio system that includes DVD-Audio and XM Satellite radio support. This system allows you to automatically transfer all tracks on a CD that you insert to a 13 GB built-in hard drive so that you won’t have to worry about fumbling with discs while you drive. It’s just another innovative way to help you keep your eyes on the road all the time. A rearview camera is also available, handy any time day or night whenever you need to back up.
You’re going to find the Acura TL’s automobile performance and handling to be stellar for a car in this price range. The base model starts at $34,955 while the SH-AWD sells for around $38,505. Considering all that you’re getting for the money, this car is a steal.
